Description
Ann Pfau ’84
Ann Pfau earned her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1984 and became one of New York’s most influential judicial administrators, serving as the state’s Chief Administrative Judge from 2007 to 2011. After stepping down from that role, she returned to the trial bench as an Acting Justice of the New York State Supreme Court in Kings County and was appointed the statewide coordinating judge for New York’s Medical Malpractice Program, overseeing reforms to reduce delays and improve case management. A 2012 New York Times profile captured her transition back to daily trial work, describing her “crash course on the ways of the bench” and her determination to master practical judging after years at the top of the court system. She continued to serve in these judicial roles until her retirement in 2014.
