Jeffrey Dinowitz ’79 (b. 1954)
Dinowitz earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1979 after graduating from the City College of New York. He was first elected to the New York State Assembly in 1994 and has represented the 81st District in the northwest Bronx since then, making him one of the longest-serving members of the chamber. Throughout his tenure he has chaired several major committees, including the Judiciary Committee, and has served in leadership roles focused on consumer protection, transportation, and oversight of public authorities. His legislative career has centered on issues affecting the Bronx communities he represents, including housing, transit, and tenant protections.
