Description

Patricia Schiller ’34 (1913–2018)

Patricia Schiller, who received her law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1934, began her career as a Legal Aid Society attorney in Washington before turning to psychology and sex education. She founded the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists and established the Webster School for pregnant teenagers in 1963, allowing them to continue their education. “Sex is a function of being human,” she told The Washington Post in 1978, emphasizing that intimacy was rooted in emotional connection rather than performance.
